About this Potatorum Agave
A striking succulent native to Mexico, particularly Oaxaca and Puebla states. Known for its compact rosette form with broad, blue-gray leaves arranged in a symmetrical pattern. The leaves feature distinctive teeth along their margins and terminate in a sharp terminal spine. When mature, it produces a spectacular flowering stalk that can reach up to 12 feet tall, bearing clusters of yellow-green flowers.
This plant was an unexpected find during a trip to Yucca Valley/Coachella while originally searching for Agave parryi. Despite the unplanned purchase and initial uncertainty, it has proven to be a delightful addition to the collection, producing four pups and demonstrating impressive vigor. Its compact size and prolific pupping habit have made it an unexpectedly entertaining and rewarding plant to grow.
