Hum-2-Tab

Sing or hum a melody and it is transcribed to guitar tablature by a neural network running entirely in your browser. No audio leaves your device. The first recording loads a ~28 MB model; later ones are instant.

How it is made

Pitch detection runs the CREPE neural network in the browser through ONNX Runtime Web. The pitch contour is median-smoothed and cut into notes with energy-based onset detection.

The key is estimated against Krumhansl-Schmuckler profiles, and the fingering is solved by a Viterbi shortest path over strings, frets and hand positions, keeping shifts down within a four-fret reach.
