Sansevieria Dracaena, now botanically classified as Dracaena trifasciata (formerly Sansevieria trifasciata), is an evergreen perennial commonly known as the snake plant, mother-in-law's tongue, or Saint George's sword. Native to tropical West Africa, it features striking, upright, sword-shaped leaves in green with gray-green cross-banding, typically growing 2–4ft tall indoors but capable of reaching greater heights in ideal outdoor conditions. Its clumping, rosette habit and architectural foliage make it a favorite for both contemporary and low-maintenance plantings. This species is valued for its ability to purify indoor air, removing toxins such as formaldehyde and benzene, and thrives with minimal care—requiring only well-drained soil, occasional watering, and indirect to moderate sunlight.
