Verse 1
[F#m]Many a hand has [Esus2]scaled the [F#m]grand old face of the plateau
[F#m]Some belong to [C#m/E]strangers and [F#m]some to folks you know
[F#m]Holy ghosts and [Esus2]talk show hosts are [F#m]planted in the sand
[F#m]To beautify the [C#m]foothills [F#m]and shake the many hands
Chorus
[F#]Nothing on the top but a [E]bucket and a mop
And an [A]illustrated book about [F#]birds
[F#]See a lot up there but [E]don't be scared
[A]Who needs action when you [F#]got [A]words
Verse 2
[F#m]You've finished with the mop then [Esus2]you can stop
[F#m]And look at what you've done
[F#m]The plateau's [E]clean, no dirt to be seen
And [F#m]the work, it was fun
Chorus
[F#]Nothing on the top but a [E]bucket and a mop
And an [A]illustrated book about [F#]birds
[F#]See a lot up there but [E]don't be scared
[A]Who needs action when you [F#]got [A]words?
Verse 3
[F#m]Many hands began [F#7/E]to scan [F#m]around for the next plateau
[F#m]Some said it was [C#m/E]in Greenland [F#m]and some say [C#m]Mexico
[F#m]Others decided [C#m/E]it was nowhere [F#m]except for where they stood
[F#m]But those were all [C#m/E]just guesses
Wouldn't [F#m]help you if they could
Outro
Testing one, testing [F7]two
Cover your hair [D#][F7]and your eyes
