Your First Three Chords
Almost every campfire song ever written lives inside three chords: G, C, and D. Learn these shapes and switch between them cleanly and you can already play hundreds of songs. We will also learn the C major scale in open position — nothing past the 3rd fret — and play five simple melodies in tab.
Concepts
Press just behind the fret, not on top of it, for a clean note.
Switch G → C → D slowly and evenly. Clean changes first; speed comes later.
A steady down-strum in 4/4 (one strum per beat) is all you need to start.
Graduation
Strum a full verse and chorus of Brown Eyed Girl, changing G → C → D → Em without stopping.
